Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony
It is an honor and privilege to congratulate all of the graduates of the Class of 2025 and to recognize them in the 2025 Commencement Ceremony. Graduation will be held at East Campus in the Porter Stadium on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at 4:00 PM.

Cap and Gown Pickup
Students can pick up their cap and gown on Tuesday, April 15th and Friday, May 9th. Only students will be allowed to pick up their cap and gown at their lunch periods during the school day. Cap and gown orders can still be placed through Jostens, but they cannot guarantee delivery by April 15th. While the cap and gowns will be delivered to school as a group later this Spring, most other items including Senior Apparel, bags, hats, and the custom Porter Mascot Tassel will ship out within 5-7 business days directly to your home. Our Jostens reps are happy to help at any time with questions that you may have. Contact them at 708-620-8634 or by emailing cranley.office@jostens.com.
**Students who do not have a lunch period because they have Wilco, students are encouraged to visit the Principal’s office to pick up their cap and gown before school or during passing periods on one of the designated days. The same will apply to graduation tickets.
Tickets
Graduation tickets can be picked up on Monday, May 12th, and Tuesday, May 13th in the cafeteria by students only during their lunch periods. Students will need to show a photo ID, and students will sign for tickets. The student will strictly be the only person allowed to pick up their tickets even if it is after the distribution dates. Graduation tickets may be withheld if all school fees are not paid in full. Tickets are also held if the student has not completed their FAFSA. Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets. Only three (3) of them can be used if it is moved indoors due to weather. Extra tickets will not be issued. Additional Note: All Community Service Hours must be completed or the student will not graduate.
Graduation Day Procedures
Graduates are to assemble in the gym. Please enter through the cafeteria doors, Door #3. Graduates should arrive at 3pm. one hour before the ceremony begins.
We encourage parents and graduates to consider carpooling to conserve parking spaces. Parking will be available in the East Campus lots as well in the Walmart parking lot (located at the corner of Farrell Rd. and 7th Street). Shuttles will be provided from the Walmart and Farrell Road parking lots.
Parents and Guests should arrive at East Campus at least one-half (1/2) hour before the ceremony. The Porter Stadium will open for guests one hour before the ceremony begins and will close 5 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Guests arriving after that 5-minute cut-off time will be required to wait in the parking area until the graduates have entered the Stadium and will be required to sit in the bleachers. Due to the size of our graduation, please build in at least a 10-15 minute window of time to both park and get to the Porter Stadium entrance.
Graduates will be expected to march quietly to the platform to receive their diploma cover and return to their seats. Diplomas will be distributed in the East Campus gymnasium immediately following the ceremony. Only graduates will be allowed in the gymnasium. Graduates who are identified as not displaying appropriate behavior will not receive their diplomas on Saturday. Diplomas that are held because of a graduate’s inappropriate behavior may be picked up by the graduate’s parents on Tuesday, June 4th, in the Dean of Students’ Office at East Campus between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Graduation Parking & Seating for the Handicapped and Disabled
There will be parking in the Lockport Township High School District Lot, as well as a portion of the 7th Street parking lot for our handicapped and disabled graduation guests. Please be advised to communicate accordingly with our Lockport Police Officers or Staff members attending these lots upon arrival. These parking spaces will be reserved for the handicapped and disabled only, so please be advised to allow for extra time to drop off guests who may have more difficulty walking longer distances from parking accommodations further away from the Porter Stadium. In assistance, there will be shuttles available to help transport guests to the stadium from our more distant parking, such as the Farrel Road parking lot.
Designated seating will be provided directly on the Porter Stadium track. Additionally, our Home and Visitor bleachers are ADA compliant. Our staff members working the ticket gates will gladly direct you to the appropriate location.
Student Decorum
We believe that graduation from high school represents a significant step in a young adult’s life. Because of this belief, the following procedures will be in effect to ensure appropriate decorum at the graduation ceremony.
Graduates should dress for a semi-formal event with dress slacks, dress shorts, dress tops, skirts, or dresses. Footwear should be appropriate for the ceremony, keeping in mind there will be long walks and turf. Flip-flops and pointed heels are not appropriate for this event. Graduates may NOT wear flip-flops, pointed heels, or jeans. Do not bring any bags or purses.
Lockport Township High School District 205 supports the right for expression of identity at the graduation ceremony. LTHS recognizes the importance of graduation and provides the following guidelines to help ensure that graduation is a positive and celebratory event for all graduates and their families.
General Information and Tips:
Graduating students and their families receive information each year about how to order the cap and gown to be worn at the graduation ceremony.
Guidelines for Graduation Dress:
Only school-issued cords and medals are allowed.
Religious-affiliated accessories are allowed.
Cultural adornments may lie on top of the robe.
Caps will not be allowed to be decorated.
The LTHS Dress Code, as outlined in the Porter Planner Student Handbook applies to graduation attire. This means that graduation attire may not be decorated with any advertisement, symbols, abbreviations, initials, words, slogans, patches, or pictures/images that:
Are violent, obscene, vulgar, or lewd
Depict/suggest drugs, alcohol, vaping, weapons or paraphernalia (or any illegal item or activity)
Represent hate speech, profanity, pornography
Create a hostile or intimidating environment based on any protected class or consistently marginalized groups
Reference any disruptive behavior that is detrimental to the safety and welfare of any person
This is not an exhaustive list and any adornment or message deemed inappropriate or determined to pose a safety risk or distraction will not be permitted.
Remember, graduation is a formal event, and LTHS respects freedom of religious and cultural expression. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak with an administrator.
The district reserves the right to have graduates change their attire before they are allowed to participate in the ceremony, if their decorum is deemed inappropriate.
Ceremony Photographs
We ask that parents/guests who want to take photographs at the ceremony do so from the seats reserved for parents/guests.
We have enlisted the service of Lifetouch who will take photographs of all graduates as they receive their diplomas.
Flowers/Balloons/Gifts
Balloons, flowers, or other gifts WILL NOT be allowed in the stadium during the ceremony. Family members and/or guests are asked to present gifts to the graduates after the ceremony.
Noise Makers
Air horns and other loud devices are not permitted at the graduation ceremony. These items can pose a safety risk and create disruptions for others in attendance.
Our purpose in having a formal ceremony is to provide recognition appropriate to the occasion. We do hope you will encourage your son or daughter to participate as we want them to receive the recognition they deserve. Your cooperation and assistance in helping us to have a meaningful ceremony is appreciated.
