Update: The Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony will be moved inside to the East Campus Fieldhouse and it will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 4:00 PM.
It is an honor and privilege to congratulate all of the graduates of the Class of 2024 and to recognize them in the 2024 Graduation Ceremony.
Friday, May 31 Update: We have been monitoring the weather forecast for Saturday, June 1. The National Weather Service is currently predicting an 80% chance of rain, with showers in the morning and afternoon, as well as the possibility of thunderstorms after 1:00 PM. AccuWeather is also predicting rain, including a 75% chance of rain between the hours of 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. With this forecast in mind 24 hours from our graduation ceremony, we have decided that the ceremony will be moved inside to the East Campus Fieldhouse. This means that families will need to use their three fieldhouse tickets, as we have strict capacity restrictions indoors. The gray ticket that says ‘Porter Stadium Only’ will not be admitted. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding of our capacity limitations.
The ceremony will be live streamed and available to watch on the District's YouTube Channel. For your convenience, the link is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9QzcCS0mQA

In addition, Seniors will be attending a Graduation walkthrough during the last period of their final school day on Friday, May 17th. Special arrangements are being made to address Wilcom students who cannot attend.
Tickets
Graduation tickets can be picked up on Monday, May 13th, and Tuesday, May 14th, in the cafeteria by students only during their lunch periods. Students will need to show a photo ID, and students will sign for tickets. Graduation tickets may be withheld if all school fees are not paid in full. Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets. Only three (3) of them can be used if it is moved indoors due to weather. All Community Service Hours must be completed or the student will not graduate.
Graduation Day Procedures
Graduates are to assemble in the gym. Please enter through the cafeteria doors, Door #3
We encourage parents and graduates to consider carpooling to conserve parking spaces. Parking will be available in the East Campus lots as well in the Walmart parking lot (located at the corner of Farrell Rd. and 7th Street). Shuttles will be provided from the Walmart and Farrell Road parking lots.
Parents and Guests should arrive at East Campus at least one-half (1/2) hour before the ceremony. The Porter Stadium will open for guests one hour before the ceremony begins and will close 5 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. Guests arriving after that 5 minute cut-off time will be required to wait in the parking area until the graduates have entered the Stadium and will be required to sit in the bleachers.
We believe that graduation from high school represents a significant step in a young adult’s life. Because of this belief, the following procedures will be in effect to ensure appropriate decorum at the graduation ceremony.
Student Decorum
Graduates should dress for a semi-formal event with dress slacks, dress shorts, dress tops, skirts, or dresses. Footwear should be appropriate for the ceremony, keeping in mind there will be long walks and turf. Graduates may NOT wear flip-flops, pointed heels, or jeans. Do not bring any bags or purses. Note: If your student is not properly dressed upon arrival for graduation, they will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Graduates and guests will be expected to maintain appropriate and respectful behavior during the ceremony.
Graduates will be expected to march quietly to the platform to receive their diploma cover and return to their seats. Diplomas will be distributed in the East Campus gymnasium immediately following the ceremony. Only graduates will be allowed in the gymnasium. Graduates who are identified as not displaying appropriate behavior will not receive their diplomas on Saturday. Diplomas that are held because of a graduate’s inappropriate behavior may be picked up by the graduate’s parents on Tuesday, June 4th, in the Dean of Students Office at East Campus between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Graduates are not allowed to decorate caps or gowns in any fashion. Any student decorating caps or gowns will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Ceremony Photographs
We ask that parents/guests who want to take photographs at the ceremony do so from the seats reserved for parents/guests.
We have enlisted the service of Lifetouch to photograph each graduate as they receive their diploma.
Flowers/Balloons/Gifts
Balloons, flowers, or other gifts WILL NOT be allowed in the stadium during the ceremony. Family members and/or guests are asked to present gifts to the graduates after the ceremony.
Our purpose in having a formal ceremony is to provide recognition appropriate to the occasion. We do hope you will encourage your son or daughter to participate as we want them to receive the recognition they deserve. Your cooperation and assistance in helping us to have a meaningful ceremony is appreciated.
