We are excited to welcome you and your freshman to Lockport Township High School. Please read this entire packet carefully to learn about Freshman Orientation and the next steps you and your family need to complete to ensure a successful transition to high school. Detailed information on all LTHS policies and current events are posted on our website, www.lths.org, as well as links to the sites mentioned below. Please refer to the website, and be sure to check your email periodically, as that is our primary form of communication with families.

Freshman Orientation is scheduled for students to familiarize themselves with their new school and the many fine opportunities which await them. During Freshman Orientation, students receive class schedules, Chromebooks and bus routes, take ID/yearbook photos, purchase or pick up PE uniforms. Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, and Wednesday, August 7. See below for students' specific appointment time. Times are determined by student’s last name.

If you currently have another student at LTHS or Kelvin Grove, log into your current Campus Portal. If you have a current LTHS student but do not have a campus portal account, fill out the form at www.lths.org/campusportal to request an account with your user name and/or activation code. Please allow 24-28 hours for a Technology Department representative to send you your Campus Portal account instructions

If this student is your first at LTHS, you need to go to Campus Portal-New User and enter an activation code to create your Campus Portal. Each parent/guardian has their own code, so you may receive 2 letters with 2 different codes.

After you are logged into your Campus Portal, you will complete the Annual Update of Student Records. The Annual Update of Student Records is open online now through July 10, and every family MUST complete the verification process. For most families, this will be a very quick process taking less than 5 minutes, and you will not have to upload any additional proofs of residency unless you have recently moved.

The mandatory Annual Update of Student Records allows you to:

• Verify that your student will attend LTHS in the fall

• Update/verify any contact information for parents & emergency contacts

• Submit proofs of residency

• Review/sign school policies and release agreements

• Reviewing and Possibly Paying School Fees

• Uploading Medical Records (if applicable)

To access the ORV within Campus Parent look on the left side menu of your Campus Parent Account for MORE, then ONLINE ENROLLMENT, then 24-25 ANNUAL UPDATE & D91 NEW SCHOOL YEAR. Follow the prompts to click through every screen, updating your information as necessary. Keep going until you hit the red SUBMIT button. You will receive an automated email saying the application has been submitted, and then another email once we have approved/processed the application.

Physicals for incoming 9th graders, including complete immunization records, are due before July 1st, and must be dated 8/20/23 or later. Students without current, complete physicals on file may be excluded from starting school. Dental exam forms are also due and are valid if dated 11/15/2023 to present. Forms are available on the Health Services page under Departments on the website if needed, and may be turned into the school nurse via fax or email, or in person.

All students must take a yearbook/ID photo during Orientation on Tuesday, August 6, and Wednesday, August 7. Students are required to dress appropriately when they are photographed. No fee will be charged for the yearbook pictures. Picture re-takes will be taken during lunch periods on Monday, September 30.

Picture packages may be purchased through Lifetouch; more information will follow regarding the ordering process. Yearbooks may be purchased through a parent or guardian’s Campus Portal account.

Completing 40 hours of community service is a graduation requirement for LTHS. Students may begin their service hours for high school after graduating from 8th grade. All community service hours must be entered into our online system. However, that system will not be available to new freshmen until the new school year begins. If students complete community service over this summer, they should get the name & email of the person who supervised those service hours. This information will be needed in order to enter it after the start of the school year. Students should inform the person who supervises the summer community service to expect an email once school begins. There are no required school supplies, other than a graphing calculator for math class. The recommended calculator is the TI-84 Plus. Students will need basic supplies such as folders/pens/pencils, etc, but may use whatever organizational supplies work best for them.

Monday, August 19, 2024, will be the first day of student attendance which is a late start schedule, classes beginning at 9:45 AM. Be sure to check our website for the most current information regarding any safety precautions and protocols, as well as the 24-25 school calendar. All LTHS policies are posted on our website. School Fees

School fees for the 2024-2025 school year will be $305 if paid prior to July 10, 2024, and $315 after that date. A $10 discount is given to all families who pay the fee between May 1st and July 10th, making the discounted fee $305. Registration fees are paid within the parent Campus Portal and can be found on the left-hand side under Fees. Students new to Lockport Township High School will also need to purchase a gym suit (shirt and shorts) and a heart rate monitor band. The 2024-2025 yearbook can also be purchased at this time. These items can be added to your cart in Campus Portal by clicking the Optional Payments button at the bottom of the Fees screen.

If you believe that you qualify for a fee waiver, and you do not see that reflected on your student’s account, please visit the Parent page on our website, click on Food Services and Fee Waivers & Free/Reduced Lunch Program for information about fee waivers, application forms, and contacts at each campus. 

All students taking PE are required to have a PE uniform, including heart rate strap. You may pay for these items via ePay, and pick them up during Freshman Orientation.

Attend Freshman Orientation with your Student on Aug. 6 or Aug. 7

Make Up date: If you are unable to attend Orientation on August 6 or August 7, we will have a make up opportunity on August 12 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at East Campus. Families can enter through the Main Entrance of East Campus. Please note that Lifetouch will not be here during these days, and we will have very limited staff to assist you. We strongly recommend attending on August 6 or 7 if at all possible. Lifetouch will have a make up date and the date will be released when it's available.
