National Honor Society

Club Description: The National Honor Society is an organization of students who excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. N.H.S. members serve their school and community through activities such as the Tutoring Program. School events sponsored by the N.H.S. include the Homecoming Dance, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. Juniors and Seniors may be eligible for membership by having a cumulative grade point average, weighted or unweighted, of at least 3.5. Students must also have at least 18 hours of school /community service and of those 18 hours, 3 hours must be true volunteer community service hours. The 18 hours cannot all come from being in a sport at the school. Once qualified, students are selected by a committee of faculty members.
